djkraz says: I can imagine there will be many people against this but I'm all for it! Imagine the lives it could save! Yep. As i pointed out on an earlier clip, Toyota is also working on their own version. People forget that driving an automobile is a priviledge, not a right. I had a drunken accident a few years ago and I made it a personal rule to never drive if I have had any alcohol at all. I doubt this is the answer, Its got to be a personal decision not to drink and drive. I have seen the ignition interrupt system on cars that I have worked on as a mechanic. Talking with the owners I have found that they can be beat quite easily. Until you take responsibility for your own actions and make the effort not to drive drunk nothing is going to stop you. I don't miss it. If I must go somewhere when I have been drinking I always get someone else to drive or don't go. Only you can make that decision. The car is just a method to make you realize that. Don't drive when you have been drinking. BTW, The only person killed in my accident was me but I was revived in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. I hit a tree on a back road with my family in the car- I was the only one not wearing a belt and the only one drunk. But noone could tell me anything, Thank GOD my family came out ok and I didn't hit anyone else. |
