Richard Nixon was very unhappy with the choice of Fred Thompson as minority counsel during the Watergate hearings because he thought he wasn't too bright to put it politely. It should be interesting to see how this guy actually fairs once he finally decides to enter the race. My bet is that he gets knocked out very early.

Thompson was the guy who warned Nixon about the probe in Watergate. Like we need this snake as the next president. Maybe all Republicans are crooks at heart.
