The Infowarrior says: This is the Elites perfect Soldier, the terminator films don't look so far fetched now do they? We already have drones flying in various warzones current and future. Imagine being pursued by by an enemy that never rests, has no mercy and leaves no trace of you when it is finished. Perhaps it is time to brush up on your knowledge of electro-magnetic pulse technology. Scary, really scary, reality always overcome imagination in time. Would you trust "them" to give this robot a reliable routine to make sure that soldier (enemy or otherwise) was actually dead before it started carving out a piece? After looking into it further I don't believe (but I hope I'm wrong) that it violates the Geneva convention "The Geneva conventions apply to uniformed soldiers fighting in declared wars between states. They specifically exclude "irregular" combatants who dress as civilians or are not acting on behalf of a state. An argument can be made in favor of extending the protections of the Geneva conventions to cover "irregular" forces, but an argument could be made against it as well." |
