Kore7 says:
Too many people on each side see the other as wholly culpable. Too many people on each side see themselves as wholly innocent, wholly victimized, ill-served by the well-meaning, abandoned by former allies, betrayed by the media, misunderstood by people who should know better, forgotten by the world.

Too many people on each side see only the suffering that has been caused them. Too many people have learned to wall themselves off from the suffering that they have caused.

This is the muddled thinking of the man in the middle. The Moderate. The one who is either disinterested in the rightness of wrongness of things, or too weak to take a position, or too imperceptive or indecisive to make distinctions and conclusiions.

This is the muddled thinking of the man in the middle, the Moderate. The one who is either insufficiently committed to ideology to see his fellow human beings as objects, or who thinks about things too much to perceive the whole world in black and white all the time, or too self-aware to believe that his side is always right.

You're usually more articulate, Enbar. That was a mess.

But again, I get the gist--a depiction of a caricature of me crafted in your imagination.

Just stand by and watch. I'm to busy doing nothing to know peace. How can we be so smart yet so stupid! The silent of the good?

This is reasonably well written, and with only a few minor tweaks could apply to nearly any two "sides" of anything. For instance, alot of the argument around here! *L*

How to make sure that peace stays dead:

If I am a pro-X extremist, responding to a pro-X moderate, I should attack and dismiss the writer as a whiner, a crybaby, a defeatist, a moron, a wimp, an imbecile, a self-hater, an extreme leftist, naïve, brainwashed, a pipe-dreamer, duped by the pro-Y bias of the mass media, a traitor.

If I am a pro-Y extremist, responding to a pro-Y moderate, I should immediately dismiss the writer as a sell-out, a fool, misguided, unaware of the real facts, duped by a the pro-X bias of the mass media, a traitor.

If I am Godfrey Daniel, responding to a moderate, I should dismiss the moderate as muddle-headed, either disinterested in ...
