In short the two sides were arguing this very point, but neither knew how to explain why their argument was more compelling. It's amazing how often these two sides talk past each other.

At least, in this instance, Kerry explained that the face of the invasion looked duplicitous. Kerry went on to later say the final report on the subject proved that the invasion was highly suspect.

In effect, Kerry was trying to explain that our actions damaged the reputation of the United States and that we needed to practice diplomacy, invite other nations in, cooperate with them, and by so doing, prove our willingness to make up for our mistake rather than let it unconsciously become what's it looks like, a cover for an unnecessary preemptive strike.

Bush's most telling remark came when he said, "The best way to defeat them is to never waver, to be strong, to use every asset at our disposal, is to constantly stay on the offensive and, at the same time, spread liberty."

And thus, the two sides will never see eye to eye. If only we realized that both agendas can be achieved. Democracy can be spread through support of "reformers in places like Iran." Democracy can be spread by building bridges and spreading our culture.

To say I'm a Fallout fan is an understatement. It's shaped my entire outlook on what a CRPG ought to be. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Feargus Urquhart, Chris Avellone, Jesse Reynolds, and Timothy Cain.

I'm scared to death to see what Bethesda has done with the franchise. Fallout 3 has me on pins and needles.

I can only hope it has the same asinine attention to detail that was found in Fallout 2. The kind of details that when you insert money in to a NukaCola vending machine, given the right circumstances, it spits out a can crippling your leg. Or better yet, discovering tha...

I can only hope it has the same asinine attention to detail that was found in Fallout 2. The kind of details that when you insert money in to a NukaCola vending machine, given the right circumstances, it spits out a can crippling your leg. Or better yet, discovering that the radiation has caused your character to slowly grow a sixth toe with the only indicator of what's happening being a little text message that inconspicuously reads,"Your foot itches."

The world should be a gritty wasteland where the environment itself expresses the roller-coaster of emotions that one would face if they lived through a nuclear war. Gloom, terror, hope. Visually as well as aurally, packed in to an ambiance that screams Wild West meets the Terminator. Non-linear story with unnecessary but important world changing sub-plot (IE/ the Jet fiasco in Fallout 2), and most important vibrant characters that you love nearly as much as your own flesh and blood.

Oh and turn-based combat, perks, SPECIAL, and everything else that made Fallout the greatest game experience to ever grace a computer screen.
