Yeah, i know what you mean..the little critters on Bear Island in Alaska where we used to have a cabin would take over the place if we didn't squirrel proof it diligently...very friendly and fascinating to watch but very territorial. we lived and let live. I'm glad he decided to give the little guy a chance. He's so cute, we don't have squirrels over here in Australia, except in the zoo of course. Ha! I love this as I have 3 here who feel the same way and are eating me out of house and home on peanut butter cookies I buy them. They are sweet creatures and My wife and I just adore them.We also have tame cardinals and bluebirds. Good one lol My parents used to have a little squirrel come into their apt., climb on the table and eat the butter. When he was finished, he'd jump off the table, run up to my dad and wipe his little mouth on the cuff of my dad's pants. My family had a pet squirrel. My mother was working in the garden and this thing just came up, sat on her foot and started nuzzling. Later that evening, I was holding him and he crawled up into the sleeve of my sweater and wouldn't come out. For the rest of that summer, he spent days in the yard and came in evenings and slept inside. He went missing sometime in the fall. We assumed that he probably died (at best, they live around four or five years). |
