You may be interested in the book "The Last Days of Hitler" by H. R. Trevor-Roper (The Macmillan Company, 1947).

The author was a British intelligence officer during and after WWII. The idea of the book was presented to him in Sept 1945. He completed the research and the book in Oct 1946.

History rarely gets thsi fresh. Highly recommended. Best bet may be to locate it in at a library.
