Therefore, the Founding Fathers included in the US Constitution tough restrictions on the powers of government. However, the US is menaced by enemies, both foreign and domestic, therefore the government must be free to violate these laws whenever it feels necessary for national security, without any type of oversight at the time or later. Therefore, all American citizens need the right to possess whatever arms they find necessary to defend themselves against this illegal tyrannical intrusion, without any regulation whatsoever. And, The USA was founded as a Christian country and has wandered away from its early godliness. Things were better in the old days. The genocide of millions of Native Americans, the enslavement of millions of Africans, the theft of nearly all its land from others, the intentional denial of legal rights to all non-male, non-white people, don't count. The US military is not like other militaries. Rare atrocities are the result of "a few bad apples." As was the case with the 45,000 tortured Vietnamese.
