Fracture says: My definition of hell would be "eternity with religious fanatics". Then we are all living in Hell right now. Every corner of this planet has them. Now turn that fan on, please. It's getting hot in here. I don't see Christians. I see bigots in Christian clothing. I alway thought God was more equal opportunity. He loves everyone, the way He made them. Even if He made them gay. ...then you certainly didn't read the same bible that I've read. Ironically, the god these fanatics love doesn't love anybody- they bitch about everybody and how they're all going to hell for one reason or another. The only ones who make the cut are assholes like them who hate everyone else. No wonder I'm an atheist. A motive that is rarely brought up is the Christians real fear of losing their privileged status. As our society becomes more diverse there is a panic that has taken hold of the Christian Right as they see their influence eroding day by day. No longer are people satisfied to adhere to a rigid outdated philosophy that may have been appropriate for the iron age but certainly does not address a vastly more complicated world that we face today. |
