This year, when you submit an app you can submit it as open or closed. If open, the world can see it, rate it, and comment on it. You are allowed to incorporate the best of the comments and resubmit. They advertised the Challenge in ten languages, including through MTV globally. But the Knight Foundation's definition of innovation wants new ideas, not new applications.
