I especially like the idea of competitive bidding by private insurers. Also, drug companies would be required to increase the rebate they now provide for medications sold to Medicaid patients from 15% to 21%.

This plan will increase spending on Medicare and Medicaid from 5% to 12% of GDP by 2050. Not a huge surprise. If it will allow more people to receive medical care than are currently getting it then it works. If we continue to delay healthcare reform it will only cost us more later.
