My state has a "Make my Day" clause. You enter my home un-invited and try to harm me- your dead. Same goes for car jackings. Crooks and outlaws will ALWAYS get ahold of guns and wepaons no matter how many stupid laws you try to bring forth. Think about it? Do you really expect criminals and outlaws to follow any laws in the first place? Doh. A man that does not play "VICTIM" cool. "A large industry of family businesses dedicated to meeting the needs of shooters, who would never shoot at anything but a paper or clay target, will be wiped out. Gun clubs will close their doors. Collectors of valuable Winchesters and Colts, beautiful pieces of Americana, will have to give them up or be at risk of prison sentences." I find this silly. Here in Canada, we have some what strict laws against certain weaponry (hand guns, automatics, etc). But we still have gun clubs, we still have collector pieces... we still have gun stores. The difference? We don't carry concealed weaponry, you must get a specific "restricted" license to own a hand gun, and no-one (I'm pretty sure) is a... Yet in Canada, Australia, and the UK, after passing more restrictive gun laws, crime increased. Happens every time. I am former military and qualified expert on a number of weapons I trained with. A 12 gauge does not miss, by the way, well maybe if I tried real hard and closed my eyes. Add to that fact that the homeowner knows his house better than an intruder (and always will). Just what makes you think an intruder has the upper hand? My dog will have already alerted me to the presence of anyone nearby with a bark or even a low growl. Guns and weapons are mainly dangerous to owners who buy them and know nothng about them. Same goes for people who buy luxury sports cars and have no clue how to operate them safely. |
