So how much does a metaphor weigh? A lot more than NASA thinks. The first man on the moon wasn't an American or a Russian, it was The Man in the Moon we all saw when we were kids, and somebody older showed him to us. That's the first man on the moon, her permanent resident, and now he's got a NASA rocket at his backside...

They used to call the mentally ill lunatics. But now I wonder who the real lunatics are. And if there is water on the moon, what are we going to do with it? Grow moon-corn for ethanol until we kill the Earth?
Such a great article it touched something, it really touched something more beautiful than finding water on the moon.

Yup, we are not only screwing up our home (earth), some among us feel compelled to try their best to screw up space as well.

Surely such people must have very small penises, and this has given them a Napoleon complex.

And now one of my own quotes: Those who are constantly preoccupied with staring at the stars, are those who are often crushing delicate blossoms beneath their feet.

I just want to know how much this expedition cost?? I mean, aren't we in severe debt?

I'm assuming billions were spent on this ridiculous expedition. There are so many more important things to be spending funds on....Just goes to show you how screwed up our government is in their thinking...Unbeleiveable.

The discovery of water on the moon could save billions of dollars and more in future space mission costs. That was the whole point of the of it. Hello?

The only *space* we need to be thoroughly concerned about it the space above our Country and our troops. It's nice to know about galaxies, black holes, the composition of other planets and solar systems...but that's for a prosperous, self-sufficient Country; like gravy on our potatoes. Ours is not that way anymore.

"The discovery of water on the moon could save billions of dollars"

I suppose that is true if one believes there is any value in manned space flights. Which I for one doubt very much.

I don't see the point of exploring space when we don't know how to look after and appreciate the planet we currently live on.

I disagree, in my humble opinion, space technology has a real good chance at saving the human race and every other living thing on earth someday. This planet is worth saving. We came from primordial ooze all the way to where we are now. We are still learning to walk. In fact, we can barely crawl at this point. We are a species at the dawn of being able to touch the face of our creator. We will not go quietly into the darkness. We've came so far in our evolution but yet we have so far to go.

Hey Lolli I thought that was like a mouse pointer?? Really can't make it out. Maybe it is like the comment a UFO.

This article from June 19 2009 The link to the page is at the bottom of this quote. Not sure what to believe??? Though all this is possible.

The NASA moon bombing, a component of the LCROSS mission,
may also trigger conflict with known extraterrestrial civilizations on
the moon as reported on the moon in witnessed statements by U.S. astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, and in witnessed statements to NSA (National Security Agency) photos and documents regarding an extraterrestrial base on the dark side of the moon. http://www.examiner.com/x-2912-Seattle-Exopolitics-...

You know what? I agree with you. (I haven't watched the video yet, but I heard about this a little while ago) It is hard to know what to believe these days!!!

Well, I know governments knowingly suppress certain information. So one part of me thinks there might be truth in this... just how much???

I think they plan a space station on the moon. Why?
The nearest exoplanet which may be able to support life (A very big "may") would take us 10 thousand years to reach if our best technology worked to extremes.
The comments above are a great collection which could be sent to "they".

I agree with you tabsey. Traveling out of the solar system is way, way, way beyond our present capabilities. Somewhere, out there...there are asteroids made of pure platinum or maybe solid gold. We asteroid mine for 10,000 years. Massive resources, job creation, with the side benefit of asteroid interception before impact. Its a win, win situation.
