This really is an ethical morass. The problem with banning experimentation on animals is that it only leaves experimentation on humans as an alternative, and that is definitely much less ethical.

Certainly, strict controls need to be in place for animal trials, but saying no to animal experimentation only leaves a much worse option for researchers.
