jklugman says: I wish I had done something like this when I was little. Because now, I can't stand the outdoors. I can't stand the outdoors. That is pretty sad, JK. Come on down to Tennessee and I'll take you fishing, hiking, boating and horseback riding. You play golf? Did you know the inside of your home is far, far more polluted than outside the home? This clip reminds me. I went to kindergaten in Lewis, Delaware and our school was right on the ocean. It was beautiful. Oh well, I guess your not interested. "Among the nature-based activities, children learn how to handle a real saw. "A plastic saw is no good," says Ms. Johnson. "You might as well give them a plastic life." I was skeptical at first. When I read they were learning such "natural-based" activities as sawing down trees, then I perked-up a bit. Did you know the inside of your home is far, far more polluted than outside the home? But I use deadly toxic chemicals to keep my house bug free, unlike nature where the bugs are all over the place like they own it. I like the ocean, but the woods? forget it. Bugs have been on this planet for eons. I don't like them but as long as I don't see them, it's cool. I am allergic to all those harsh cleaning materials - even something like windex will cause my windpipe to close. Forest Kindergartens sound like how to have a happy childhood. I guess that's what I had before I started school. Get up in the morning, eat breakfast, brush teeth, and make sure I was home when it started to get dark. Living on a farm then a small town gave me lots of places to explore. |
