Comment to my Clip: Russia's Cyberattack on Georgia

Just trying to get the word out. Because of the conflict between Russia and the Republic of Georgia we are getting hammered. We broadcast, for expatriots, three Georgian television stations and a special announcement site for the Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili (president.gov.ge) if you are carrrying any Georgian based material be careful, we are receiving attacks all across the spectrum, not only on our Georgian websites but all of our issued IPs. Fortunately we have the equipment and technicians who can handle it. But if you don't and have any material related to the war you may want to premptively take it down.

Just exactly how are we going to help more than we are now? We have trained them and provided supplies and weapons, but we are also already at war in both Iraq and Afghanistan, where our troops are spread thin. Here's an idea, all of you who are under 42 and really believe we should send in more troops to help Georgia, enlist! If you will not enlist, why not?

Umm. I'm a little out of the demographic to enlist, but the current military has roughly 500K of which only 200K or so are in theatre at the moment."Stretched thin" is a myth perpetrated by the left to undermine the wars...

We must enlarge the size of our armed forces to meet new challenges to our security. For too long, we have asked too much of too few - with the result that many service personnel are on their second, third and even fourth tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq. There can be no higher defense priority than the proper compensation, training, and equipping of our troops.

Our existing force is overstretched by the combination of military operations in the broader Middle East and the need to maintain our security commitments...
