. . . of the building tsunami of populist outrage.

Unlike with President Bush, the Obama administration is less apt to dismiss such commentary, at least publicly, as so much carping from an out-of-touch peanut gallery. These are voices that have been sympathetic, and at times gushing toward Obama, during the campaign and in his administration’s early days.

The president and his top aides read the Times closely and react quickly to its reporting and commentary.

Kroft to Obama: Are you punch-drunk?

Meanwhile, the notoriously tone-deaf pres stuns Kroft at 60 minutes but chuckling at our woes. Politico again:

President Barack Obama said he believes the global financial system remains at risk of implosion with the failure of Citigroup or AIG, touching off “an even more destructive recession and potentially depression.”

His remarks came in a “60 Minutes” interview in which he was pressed by an incredulous Steve Kroft for laughing and chuckling several times while discussing the perilous state of the world’s economy.

Why, then, from him?

I found the word 'incompetent' in several articles this morning concerning the new President. Some of us knew that he was not ready for the office long ago, but when previous supporters begin to watch and look at his conduct (or lack thereof), it's revealing. At first, when he was elected, I was angry...now I'm scared. "Figurehead" seems to best describe him.

Many of us knew he had not had enough experience before the election--but "hope" was the magic word of the day. Well "hope" doesn't cut it, it takes action taken gained from past experience. As ColoradoRight commented in a clip today, "We simply are thirsty for the unapologetic doer, who never says he’s sorry for himself or his country or his ancestors, but instead thinks and plans how he can build something better and leave it for others–the age old agrarian commandment “make sure you leave a better farm than you inherit.” Where are they all, in the grave?

I hope many moderate democrats and independents are equally as upset with Obama and his Congressional Tag-Team of dimwits as the rest of us are. Something major has to be done to force all this spending however with what has already been passed at light speed, it is probably already to late to prevent major damage to the economy.

The Teleprompter of the United States must not be questioned. He is The Messiah, The Chosen One, The One We Have Been Waiting For. or is that Us is waiting for ourselves? Never mind, ignore the man behind the curtain. Isn't our lovely new President so huggable? Aren't his abs so sculpted? Aren't his wife's arms rock solid?

What other attributes are needed for a President?
