I admire this woman's patience Stunning work. My mommy would have loved to have seen this. My home bears testimony to my late mother's passion for needlepoint and tapestry (albeit she sewed with one partially-sighted eye and a magnifying glass. I would assist her only by highlighting the dark areas on her canvass with white chalk so that she could see it.) That woman knitted her own work of art. Gorgeous work, but it's incorrect to call it knitted — the original article (under an incorrect headline about "knitted Sistine Chapel") gets it right: it's cross-stitch. (From the photo I was guessing needlepoint, but cross-stitch would look similar.) I think you're right Lexica. I do cross stitch embroidery (not on such a grand scale as that) But it could be that or needle point which can look very delicate. My daughter does that. |
