I do a lot of volunteer work at elderly communities here in CT. Loneliness and loss are great culprits in the pursuit of a healthy retirement environment. Next on the list is in-compatibility. That's a tough one since most of the elderly I deal with are very set in their ways, some to the point of being cynical. Failing health is another. I mean, a lot of them just sit and complain and compare their health problems. I thank the good lord for the ones who seem to overcome their troubles and go from day to day with a twinkle in their eye and a bounce in their step.
