A 'privilege'? What has this character got against his fellow Earthlings? Well said cakebelly Wouldn't those people who have a job, and opted out of their employers health care, be paying for their health care, in a universal health care system, through taxes? Sounds like it makes people be responsible and also cuts health care costs by letting those people who don't have jobs receive preventative care and not costly emergency room care. From Tennessee.... no less... who else is from.... oh never mind. Class warfare is what's going to happen if the rich keeping pissing all over the poor. *cough*frenchrevolution*cough* The preamble to the US Constitution states that one of the purposes of the government it created was to "...promote the general welfare...". Combine this with the Declaration of Independence's establishment of "life" as a fundamental human right and you have a precedent for maintaining a certain quality of life as something every citizen should be able to expect. long held dittohead philosophy, "I got mine F*** You." He gets health care and full salary for life. The funny thing is, as a congress person, he now has lifetime government health care. Another way of phrasing his statement would be "health care is for the privileged." — Comment removed by clipper — co-sign all. And don't even suggest sharing because then you're asking for special rights. They have preached for years here in the US that a drivers license is also a privilege. Even after the auto and oil industries broke up most of the mass transit and train systems. Makes me sick! Next, having a job, having a roof over your head, will be a privilege. Having a roof over your head IS a privilege, not a right, in our America - just ask the bank that holds your mortgage. Asked who is not entitled to health care, Wamp responded, "An employee who rejects the health care provided by their employer ’cause they don't want any of the money deducted from" their pay check.This is interesting - he says all are entitled to it except those who don't want paycheck deductions. That's good - the poor flub has said that those who've been cancelled for a medical condition, or those who are unemployed, or those whose employers don't offer it, or those who can't afford the only plans that will take them - to all those, it IS a right. I could live with that. Who in their right mind elects this clown?
