It turns out, according to a post on the renamed site, that the brand name SyFy was sold to parties now identified as New Fizz Corporation a month ago, through an attorney that NBC Universal has used before, according to reports. Since the announcement, a war of words has broken out between SyFyPortal now AirlockAlpha founder Michael Hinman and NBCU. According to David Goetzl, writing for Media Daily News, NBCU claims they came up with the name independently, while Hinman can clearly prove he was using the name for years and sold it. Goetzl further reports that attempts to call New Fizz Corporation on their listed number gets a person saying you dialed the wrong number.
