Just because his voice synthesizer has an American accent doesn't mean that Hawking isn't, y'know, British.

Furthermore:
as recently as April this year he was admitted to Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge. Which is, I believe, an NHS hospital. And last time I checked, Hawking hasn't been bumped off by some heartless NHS bureaucrat.

Do you suppose Hawkings recieves any preferential treatment being an important scientist? I wonder what other important people receive preferential treatment ordered by the "state"? Do you really think everyone is treated exactly alike in regards to their importance and status?

Bzzt! Logical fallacy: loaded question.

You're the one making the insinuations and allegations; you need to provide some kind of evidence for what you're claiming. After you present your evidence, it's reasonable to expect the other side to refute it. But if you haven't given any evidence AT ALL, it's not the responsibility of the person or agency you're accusing to prove that your unsupported allegations are true.

jay8h EVERYONE is treated equally under the NHS in the UK except those who have private insurance but who prefer NHS for QUALITY treatment as private companies worry about the cost of treatment while state treatment doesn't only consider expenses but equality of treatment for all, not only the wealthy, same as in most of European countries.

Oh, look, a first-hand account from an average person:
I'm British, My father is British. We have in our lives both paid our national insurance contributions when we where working. It is not as much as income tax. My father is now 81 and is suffering from Motor neurone disease. To help with his care, so he can stay in his own home, he had a stair lift fitted (free). He has a chair, with controls for position (free), he has a medical bed with similar controls. Now that he can no longer walk, he has a hoist to get him from his bed to the chair. He now has two care assistants that visit in the morning...
