The Real ID Act of 2005 turns our state driver’s licenses into a national ID card, costs over $20 billion dollars, infringes privacy, and imposes major burdens on taxpayers, anybody renewing a driver's license, seniors, immigrants, transgender people, and state governments – while doing nothing to protect against terrorism. A huge coalition is fighting Real ID at the state and national level -- and we need your help. This is supposed to be the United States of America, not the 'my state does it this way, so there'. What's wrong with a real national standard on something for once? Every state has their own state laws, regulations, blah, blah. They are like little countries and hardly united in anything anymore. The past 2 elections proved that beyond a doubt. |
