If they are - they are no more exploited than men.

Nobody claims to know more about your religion than you... based on the deeds of (some) of your fellow muslims - sending their kids to die, blowing themselves up in crowds, beheading people, supposedly in the name of that religion - you can have it... The deeds speak for themselves. So go and figure that.

Bad things happen in all countries, but one of the worst places as for women's rights is here, in the US. Yes, there are women who are politicians. You need to look further, though. Look at the plight of single mothers and so on... those who are stuck in poverty because they can't find decent paying jobs as long as they have children to care for. Bush's "family values" while he cuts services to them... but I digress.

Women are not honored here... in Muslim countries they are.. unless, of course, you listen to mainstream news... they WANT us all to believe that women have no rights in Islam.

As for shariah law, whoever posted that, do YOU know what it is? Shariah law is redundant. Shariah means law. Now.. tell me what you think it is. First do the research... ok?

There are companies that insist on having x number of minorities (including women) hired as a norm. There no such rules for hiring men. There are TV networks dedicated to programming for women. There countless charities that help women. I was doing some computer consulting for a non-profit in Seattle which sole function was to help battered and abused women. There are many resources here in the US to help women.

As with men - the job situation is what it is. There are companies that pay well for certain skills/experience and others that don't. If what you say about women was true - we wouldn't have people like Carly Fiorina or (can't recall the name) the lady that runs Xerox and countless others.

Some can't get a decent paying job - true, but it's their lack, not the lack of the country. If you look at the muslim women wearing their garb - they have no choice. If they took it off - they'll likely wind up dead. Women here DO have a choice - there are all kinds of programs to help with reeducation, job placement etc. If you have a woman that chose to have 3 kids, out of wedlock, and wants to sit all day long collecting welfare - that's not the problem with the environment here. And if in other countries women are exploited - how we digest such news is irrelevant to the topic at hand..

This treatment ,by fundamentalist muslims, of their own people is nothing new and in the past we could just shake our heads . And ,sure, it is true even still,this could be tolerated by the free world--within their OWN societies. BUT--However, in the recent years and decades,it commands the attention of those aware enough,and is cause for alarm to know they want to impose world wide sharia law,eventually,with lots of violent,explosive death in the campaign to convincing you it would be far more logical to submit to the Religion of Peace. Ironically, our culture is what riles the radicals--first and foremost. You know,,the anything goes art,style,and morality professed by Hollywood? By those most liberal? Whose head do you think they want first?

I appreciate your work for women's issues. Very important,useful,positive and on the mark.
What separates the issue in the clip,is that this kind of treatment is DEMANDED and forced upon people BY LAW. I guess, in some cases where there is some element of reason mixed in,locally,voices can rise up and call for leniency or reconsidering. In radical areas,though, this is AUTOMATIC AND EXPECTED.
As worthwhile and needed is your work with women, I'll guess you're liberally 'conditioned' and respond to the clip as bogus AUTOMATICALLY.
