This is a key victory in restoring our personal rights as American citizens. Bush's flexing of exectutive powers against "enemy combatants" MUST HAVE MERIT! I am elated to discover the necessary checks and balances are being utilized for the common good of the people in a time when executive powers and judiciary measures are constantly being defined and redefined due to the new global threat.

In the ruling, Judge Diana Gribbon Motz told the trial judge to send the U.S. Department of Defense a writ of habeas corpus to bring charges against al-Marri in regular courts, expel him from the <A class="iAs" classname="iAs" href="#" target="_blank" itxtdid="3593842">United States</A> or free him.

"Today's decision reinforces the importance of judicial review as a check on executive power, and highlights the need for Congress to restore the right to habeas corpus for all Guantanamo detainees."
