Part of Reconstruction is distraction. It has worked well in the U.S. since the Civil War. It seems real insulting to the average Iraqi that there is "a shortage of entertainment" when they are struggling more for clean water, proper sewage, food, and infrastructure that has been destroyed by the U.S. invasion.

Interesting comment about the Reconstruction. I've always felt it certainly true that stories (by the USA or anyone) about how their armies are giving out footballs and candy to kids, etc. is a deliberate propaganda to cover up the real actions of armies: killing people, destroying cities, seizing land and resources.

The US military right now it worried about it's Baghad "Green Zone," being destroyed, it's center of power and government in Iraq. This is the story between the lines of latest fighting against the Mehdi Militia,
