ratilfar says: Talk-hate radio stirs up the pot, right pundits breathe on the embers, and the fanatics prepare for Armageddon. When you look at the neocons through anything but rose coloured glasses, it is not too hard to imagine them setting up groups of suicide martyrs. I doubt anyone would commit suicide, that takes a bit more courage than these yahoos have. Their way is to pack a truck in front of a day care center or woman's health clinic with fertilizers and make a run for it. I saw this show last night. This guy had affiliations with white supremacy and, a lot of those guys seem to speak as if they'll gladly fight for our Constitution. They completely overlook OUR rights. OUR Constitution. I think we must be reading two different ones. I thought we had the right to vote and elect a President for this country. OUR country, not just THEIRS. The majority won. President Obama is our President for 4 years and they need to deal with it. Terrorists are cowards. They want innocent people to die for their beliefs. It's all so narcissistic. That's the thing. It is no longer "their" country. They are afraid that being white, male and protestant does not guarantee you a path to success (it never did, but the illusion was and still is carefully cultivated by those in power), that they now have to compete for resources and share with everyone else. One of the reasons I voted for Obama is that he seems to cross all racial lines. He's not Al Sharpton and he's certainly not McCain. He's just a man and I thought that was cool. But then...I heard he was our messiah....just kiddin! I don't think terrorists are cowards - I think they are people without hope who believe no one but a few sees the truth, and hope that their desperate action may bring their cause to light. Suicide bombing is not a strategy, it's a statement of people hopeless but unbowed. People who hope to win don't do it. Remember the kamikazes? And I doubt that many white Americans understand hopelessness that profound. No, I don't think they'll suicide-bomb. I hate to disagree but it is indeed a strategy, perhaps not by the bomber himself, but it is a political strategy by those organizing it. Now the lone nut job, that is different. Thing is, if it were just a matter of those that felt such a deep hopelessness, well, the homeless, victims of bombings, etc would be our future terrorists. I don't see that happening. What these guys think being without hope is, having a President that doesn't fall into their category. We didn't bomb their asses when Bush was invading Iraq. That was a pretty hopeless situation if you didn't want it. I dunno, I'm rambling again.... |
