you're forgetting that the leader was elected by the people with 'bad name'. second thing you're forgetting is that a lot more people are involved in government than the President. And what exactly is "the damage"? 9/11 could be (and should be) classified as "the damage"... trying to prevent others from repeating it wouldn't. As for other countries (some of them) looking negatively at America - that was in place LONG before Bush came to power. I would even say that it goes way back before Bush was born. The dislike came from envy mostly, but to many for political reasons.

Now, of course, you're going to vote for 1 of the prominent 2 Americans. (I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly, that voting for a genuine American hero isn't an option for ya). One is the person who stood by her husband after he had a sexual relationship with someone old enough to be his daughter, not to mention subordinate... certainly an admirable decision on her part and the other who followed for years the racist & anti-American rhetoric in his church. Both great choices, as skwirlinator pointed out.

Personally, I'm proud of the fact that America allowed me to become an American (legally, of course). George W. Bush is my President because I'm an American and that's who America elected. So was Bill Clinton, although I personally disagreed with him on most issues. That doesn't change the fact of what America is. I disagree with Bush on a number of issues as well, and I couldn't care less what other countries think of America - I care about America itself. I've lived long enough in another anti-American country to know why someone might be anti-American. All I can tell you - you simply don't know the real story and you're following BS on CNN etc. to get such sentiments.

America isn't a perfect country, there isn't a pe
