Many of the scientists featured in this report consistently stated that numerous colleagues shared their views, but they will not speak out publicly for fear of retribution.
I have to say that i am more than a little sceptical to this part of the clip, we have heard this kind of thing over and over and over again when people wish to lend a little more credibility to their particular point of view.

As with most arguments of this nature much of the same kind of criticism which is levelled against one side can just as easily, and usually does, also apply to the other.

Sadly we seem to live more and more in a world where there are two extremes, and the voice of the people on the...

I still believe this cyclical.

As with many who might disagree with us (whether scientist or other), sometimes it' just too much trouble to argue the point. No one's viewpoint is going to be changed and so better to spend your time pursuing what you, yourself, *see* than debating with those who are already convinced within themselves.

You ever see those photo images of the earth at night when it shows that there is enough light to see the outlines of the continents, city locations, and even road pathways? That's just light. Now imagine all the garbage, sewage, pollutants, cars, smokers, and exhaled breath of all those people.

Can you really look at that and say that mankind is not effecting changes in the environmental weather patterns? I don't know to what level humanity is responsible, but it is naive to disclaim any cause and effect.

I agree with jatfla. I have been concerned about climate change since the 1980s (originally coming not from a statistical base but more a gut feeling of outrage at the crudeness of environmental pillage and ruin). Last month I posted a BBC story that stated 18% of scientists have reservations about parts of the recent IPCC report. This is exactly what one would expect - and hope for - in all serious scientific enterprise which is always based on tentative and replaceable hypotheses, testing, validity checks, predictability, consistency etc. It strikes me as alarming the number of people who can't be bothered to go direct to source and look at all the data and interpretation but seem happy to...
