A company known as "Green Star Products" had announced last year that it had signed an agreement with "De Beers Fuel Limited" of South Africa to build 90 biodiesel reactors with algae as raw material. And that each reactor will be capable of producing 10 million gallons of bio- diesel annually translating to a total production capacity of 900 million gallons per year when operating at full capacity. That is 4 times greater than the currentVery interesting. Again, I hope this is not another of those really titillating stories of great possibility that then disappears and is never heard from again. I believe Israel grow algae for fuel for their jets, but I could be wrong. |
