I was against the war from the start. My country acting like the country that invaded Poland in WWII did not sit well with me.

We have been given a reason for the war -- WMD and that was false.

We have been diverted into the argument that Iraq was a terrorist state -- again proved false

We have been pushed into the argument that we are liberating the Iraq people from Sadam -- um, there are bad leaders all over the world, why this one?

Every argument given has failed to hold water -- the USA is engaging in imperialism -- and against international law. The numbers of people killed far far exceed the numbers for the "bad man Sadam" who was convicted of war crimes, not by an international court but by his enemies in Iraq.

I hope there will be a time when Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney are tried in an international court for war crimes -- after the American people get through with them for violating the US Constitution.

hmmm,

after the American people get through with them for violating the US Constitution.
The trouble here is that no matter what the ordinary people in the street think, nothing will happen while you have an opposition in control of congress, who really have failed to show the USA or even the world that they are going to what is right to bring some measure of credibility back to the USA.

And i do not mean to be rude but i have to say that the rest of the world is not seeing on the streets of the USA any meaningful protests (from the people) against an administration which is riding roughshod over all that you have fought for over the years.

I hope there will be a tim...

I wonder how many of those people actually know that the violence has dropped in Iraq since the MSM doesn't seem to believe that good news in Iraq is really news.

Yes, it has dropped back to the good old days of 2004, when only one American soldier was killed a day, rejoice!

Oh in another piece of good news the MSM is not reporting:

Report: 14 percent of Iraqis now displaced

No wonder violence is down, the violence accomplished its goal of kicking the people out of their homes. Huzzah for good news!

People are actually returning to their homes in Baghdad, although you would be hard pressed to find that news with our MSM.

Your citing an article where 3,000 people returned to their neighborhoods which is a pittance when you know that 2 million refugees are in Syria and Jordan and another 2 million are displaced within Iraq.

The Government Accountability Office has already testified that violence is down in Baghdad because the Shiites were already largely successful in their neighborhood ethnic cleansing.

Give 3 cheers!

And, of course, our retreat would really cut down on ethnic cleansing. Surrender at all costs.

Surrender? To whom? Who would you give your sword or pistol to, exactly?

As for good news, how about:

@n2sooners

I see you abdicated your position. Once again your point was a mischaracterization.

If you want to place blame on someone for the ethnic cleansing taking place look no further than the neocons, Bush and Cheney. They had absolutely no understanding of this region. Still don't.

Partitioning the country looks to be one of the few reasonable solutions outside of the US staying there until a generation of Iraqis have grown old and passed away so the next generation will not have the bitter payback mentality (and then there won't even be any guarantee of that).

Partitioning the country is only going to work if the waring factions can decide how to split oil revenues. Good luck on t...
