I don't think our education has sever us well about this topic. The similar 'Spanish Flu," (H1N1) killed about 40 to 50 million people worldwide in 1918. Or more.

It hits fast. It spreads fast. At that time medicine had far less resources and tools to stop it, if possible. Becuase it's something "new," to infect the human body our human bodies haven't a clue, haven't any antibodies at all to stop it.

It is odd that such a massive disaster is overlooked in our teaching of American history. We get all the war stuff all the time and put big bucks into it but the far greater threat was sickness and the big bucks would have been better spent on meedicine, medical research, doctors and nurses, facilities, etc.

It seems our medical people are alert and working seriously on this. They realize the great danger.

Don't panic (they say). I wouldn't go to Mexico (no matter what they say). Wash hands with anti-bacterial soup. Get a few of those masks and be seriously ready to put 'em on.
