Forbes says:

Add another one to the growing list of U.K. socceer clubs that were taken public in the 1990s but have now returned to private owenership following a talkeover. Newcastle is the biggest club to go this route after Manchester United, taken private by Malcolm Glazer followiing his acquisition of the team.
