He couldn't be more right...

He couldn't be more wrong. The Mayor is obviously playing to the Chamber's businessmen and women you routinely hire illegals. Phoenix has a huge illegal problem and that problem is why the FBI and other agencies had to round up all the gang members (most of who are illegals).

Immigration violations are federal crimes. The FBI and INS are responsible for them...

The county Sheriff is tasked with enforcing our (local) laws... If an illegal immigrant has committed a felony he's fair game - go get 'em Joe. But he spends time rounding up people in neighborhoods who have not committed a crime... as opposed to tracking down people that HAVE committed crimes.

I thought we lived in a country where people are actually free -- and free from harassment by those in power unless there is probably cause that someone has committed a crime. Targeting people because of their 'appearance' reeks of bigotry.
