I am stunned by the inhumanity of these people. When I was attacked by a knife-wielding man in my home, all my neighbours, upon hearing my screams, responded and my relief was indescribable. This poor woman. Her faith in humanity must be shattered.

For me first would come the call for police then i'd kick the living sh*t out of the attacker. How can anyone let something like this happen.
It's almost the same for the starving children in poorer countries, we all just watch it on tv, show a little sympathy, then switched the channel. We just let it all happen.

@kkapricorn. Not sure that would be the reason they came to my aid, but rather through a sense of communal responsibility. We tend to look out for each other. I was simply so grateful. What I don't understand is how it is possible for someone to be attacked and so many people remain unmoved and indifferent. That is truly terrifying. It's like the incident of a woman dying of stab wounds on a supermarket floor while shoppers stepped over her body and carried on as normal. I am dumbfounded by their apathy.
