I don't understand how any logical person could deny that we are not helping it along by the production of CO2, CH4, and CFCs in great amounts, causing a build-up in the atmosphere, because it cannot be absorbed as fast as it is being produced. Unfortunately, it takes at least 50 - 100 years for CO2 to be absorbed or dissipate naturally. I don't personally think it's a dire problem yet, but as human population continues to expand exponentially, It most certainly become a dire problem in the future if it's not curbed *soon.

I don't want to be around to see a runaway greenhouse effect, which is what's happened on Venus, due to their overactive volcanoes. Thank goodness we haven't had that kind of exterem volcanic activity on earth in many millions of years, else none of us would be around to talk about it. But the effect is real, and it's happening here. The problem is that it's a self-propogating cycle. The more CO2 in the air, the more is released from the seas and so on and so on. In addition, we're creating more, which in turn, causes more to be released.

Not only does CO2 absorb rrdiation, but so do CFCs, CH4, and NO2..

The more CO2, (as well as the CH4 (methane), and CFCs), the more more energy can be released, thus the more warming.

Actually, the CFCs have the most energy potential, but since they are sparse, they're not that big a deal since CFCs have been banned as use as a propulsion agent.

Since it takes at least 50 years for the collective gases to even begin to be absorbed, they tend to accumulate in the atmosphere. I don't know how to explain it any better than that. I'm not sure which part of it that some people don't believe. It's all basic science and can be proven scientifically. As I have said many times before, I don't believe we're the main cause of global warming, only that we're contributing to it. The worst of it is, it's a cumulative effect, and the crap that we dump into the air today will be compounded greatly and still be floating about for our great-grandchildren to deal with if we don't start curbing it now.
