This is "George" he is the biggest, then there is a middle sized one I have not yet named and a smaller one again which I have not named. When the moon is high and I "feel like an insomniac" I go outside to look at the stars and the moon if it is bright, sometimes "George is on my chair" and we share it briefly before he hops off. I genuinely have a preference for wildlife in their "free state" not cultured, not cultivated, not behind bars, with ample habitat to allow them to thrive so that I can continue to enjoy their presence in my life. I love wildlife allowed to BE FREE - as they were born to be just like you and me. Pretty little frog. You are so very lucky dancer. It sounds like you come very close to living in a little piece of paradise. I am making a conscious effort to keep finding these in my life and in my world, as the past 5 years I have been watching them disappear before my eyes as a result of the push for urban development. There are times where I have been really saddened by the vast tracts of bushland that have been consumed for urbanization. Right now, our community are working towards halting another development proposal which will cut into conservation reserve land - land the people of this community really treasure and value because it is natural and it is not miles away. It is a space for the wildlife to live, breathe and BE. We are in a much better place politically than we were the last time. This time ... |
