California, a democratic stronghold, faces a fiscal crisis brought on by unrestrained public employee union pension demands. Unfunded benefits are eating away at the fiscal pie leaving less and less for general funding. These unfunded benefits will eventually bankrupt many municipalities not only in California but elsewhere.
