What a strange condition. These people are so obsessed with removing one or more of their limbs that they actually find the means and get it done.

I wonder if the people who cut themselves have a minor form of this condition?

Another reason to legalize marijuana if you ask me.

Is this Munchhausen Syndrome, where people, in seeking attention, deliberately injure or make themselves sick? I wonder if it's an attention seeking device?

I don't think so Zephyr1 because true self-mutilators try to keep it hidden. I believe it's when mental anguish becomes so acute the only relief is to translate it into physical pain. I know someone who does this, and they usually cut the soles of their feet.
