Sad. Another Christian Nationalist spews superstition. Seems Texas has an overabundance of this sort of thing. What's with these people?

When saying the pledge. I switch between that and 'Under Canada'.

Children should make no pledges, period. It both demeans the spirit of the pledge and the children. When one utters a pledge, one is making an oath, and if I remember my Bible correctly, those should not be made in vain. Only when one understand the nature of the oath and makes it willing does it have any meaning.

Pity the kid with the excuse from home, and the intolerant aftermath of the peer cruelty kids are so good at.

"We don't care if you really believe in your heart or not. Just freakin' knuckle under and mumble the words so we feel better about ourselves."

State religion... thinking for assholes who can't.

Mathew 5:33"Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord.' 34But I tell you, Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God's throne; 35or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

BB, be sure not to forget to attend Honoradele's advanced thinking seminar coming soon entitled "Cutting and Pasting Your Way to Salvation". Sadly the sequel "Thinking for Yourself" was canceled due to lack of interest.

Nothing's with us. The pagan community here in Texas is thriving, but nobody ever reports that. Don't use the media bias as a measuring stick.

OK, fair enough. I'll change that to "what's with those elected Texas legislators?"

I'll accept that one.

Sane, everyday pagans are boring press. Much better press to use the conservatives for target practice, because they make it so darn easy.

Really?! I can't go anywhere in public without starting with a prayer and/or the pledge. Soccer games, football games, graduations, spelling bees, school concerts/plays, Walmart.
