zizzy I hovered over your screen name. I LOVE COSTA RICA! I wanna live there someday when I grow up. I was there for 2 weeks just before the rainy season last year. I want to go back just after the rain this year. My wife wants to go to Italy. I might just let her. I don't like that guilty until proven innocent thing though.

hi googleit. I'm in Puerto Viejo. The weather since I arrived here is rain with moments of sunshine. Last night a deluge that continued into the morning. It's let up a bi now. Don't know what it's like in Guanacaste right now, but before and after the new year it was hot and sunny, perfect beach weather at Samara, Tamarindo and Manuel Antonio. Italy is fabulous. I hope to go later this year.

Yes Tamarindo is bad. Didn't spend a lot time there. Mostly at nearby Playas Grande and Juncuillal: quiet, undeveloped and an abundance of shore life. And I love Kikes Bar. Unfortunately, the land around Grande is sectioned off for development. Arenal is beautiful. Unfortunately the weather was cloudy and rainy so I didn't see the lava flow. But I did go to the Hanging Bridges. Tranquil. A beautiful hike. I'm going back there so maybe I'll get lucky next time. If you go to the M.A. National Park hire a guide. It's worth it. And if she's available, hire Elithia (phonetic spelling). She's the only female guide in the park - most of the guys hate her because they believe that she's on their t...

Thanx 4 the tips zizzy! When we were at Arenal it was VERY active and the sky was crystal clear. We could lay in bed at night and look right out our big window at the lava pouring and shooting out. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! Then in the morning the sun rose right up over it. BREATH TAKING! We stayed at the Beuna Vista. Not the nicest place in CR but the price was good, and the location is absolutely fabulous! It's clean and the people were wonderful! But then all the CR people are wonderful!
