AtlLiberal says: The next time you're pulled over in Georgia just tell them that God made you do it. Whatever "it" might be! Religion is a get out jail free card for whatever bizarre bahavior you might wish to engage in up to and including child abuse. Ah Georgia, Sweet Geogia! Still clinging to demon infestation. I hope the child will eventually be able to get the proper medical care he so plainly needs. I love your comment AtLiberal. Nice. In a country full of nuts, you pull one article about another nut just because it has something to do with religion. You guys must be really bothered by religion. You guys must be really bothered by religion. In some respects, I am although I don't speak for all non-theists. What particularly bothers me is that this blatant selective enforcement of the law is fueled by the antiquated argument that religion somehow trumps civil law.The parents of this child put him in danger through sheer stupidity. To be generous, it is possible that these people couldn't afford proper health care for their child. But that's another ball of wax. Picture this 15 year old kid as an adult, a parent, a neighbor, a coworker. This is the result of having a culture that allows a human to claim ownership of living beings (i.e. parent owns child, husband owns wife, employer owns employee, "human" owns "animal", powerful owns powerless). And then we blame the powerless for the harm and cruelty they must endure and the insanity that results from it while worshipping the ones who have inflicted the harm and cruelty. Amazing, ain't we. |
