So Pakisatn gets taken over by radical Islamists who have access to existing (And proven) nuclear wepaons. India and the U.S. could easily take them out with strikes of thier own. The problem with taking the lid off the nuclear cookie jar is trying to put it back on the shelf once it's down.

As far as "why republican", I can't help you, there, but I can tell you that if,due to Musharrafs power hungry act of beating his supreme court to the punch, he has allowed for so much chaos and instability that the Talilban,et.al, come rolling down from the mountains, are able to do a "takeover" of sorts and gain access and control of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal, then.....the only sensible measure to VERY seriously consider at that time, would be ....to.....TAKE THEM OUT !!!!!

Actually it is a myth, accept it or not but this taking-over-of-nuclear-by-taleban-in-pakistan (or Iraq or Iran or whatever) is a myth created by neocons. The OBL types are dangerous I give you that, but they are cave dewellers with computers in their hands. The nuclear facilities are child's play anywhere in the world, unless you wish to believe what Bush and Co tells you as their argument to take over countries.

And nobody in their right mind in Pakistan believes in such things that Taleban are there to take over Pakistan's nuclear facilities. Of course if they take over the government they take over the facilities but them taking over the government of Pakistan would be as same as Osama becoming a president of United States.
