USSR certainly leaves a mark on society... as the clip suggests... although some things, like education, are positive.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Boulder sits an elaborately hand-carved, hand-painted teahouse, painstakingly dis-assembled and imported from Dushanbe, then re-assembled on the gentle banks of the Boulder creek. Despite having the most exotic imported teas and treats in town, the building and environment are stunningly beautiful and intensely serene. If you ever visit Boulder, you have to stop by for tea or brunch at the Dushanbe Teahouse.

(To my surprise, Dushanbe is also a twin city of Ankara, Turkey! What do you guys ha...

Most of the people from any former USSR republic that ends with 'stan' know their teas much better than anyone else. They're certainly known for the little berets, can't recall the actual name, that their men wear as well as their prowess with shish kabobs and similar foods, which they eat with their hands.

I've never been there, but your description of the Boulder establishment seems very much worth visiting.
