Vaccines work by training the immune system to recognizing a virus, by introducing a part of the virus that will not be able to cause damage. I wonder if they can train white blood cells, to recognize a virus when they are in the test tube ?

This is a very interesting and creative solution! But isn't it the point of the HIV virus to compromise a healthy immune system? So with new healthy white cells introduced into the body, that wouldn't necessarily reverse the effects of the HIV virus, just slow it down maybe. I can see this working better for a disease like cancer.

I wonder if people who are against the use of stem cells in medicine would have a problem with this. To me, it's essentially the same thing except it cuts out the middleman fetus.

A nice way for them to collect and store DNA samples on everyone too and people would even be handing them over voluntarily. Smart they are.
