alanocu says: A University of Florida scientist has grown a living "brain" that can fly a simulated plane Good. Now they need to grow a whole bunch of them for congress. STAT! hehe that's a great point! I was thinking something other than operating a flight simulator would've been more useful? 45 minutes from my house, I wonder if I could get a tour. I was wondering what they did with George W. Bush's brain. He didn't have one so they grew him one. lol I do like neuroscience. However, it is very complicated, and if it can alleviate some unhappiness/illness, good. Would it be utopia if we paid as much attention to the much simpler networks of global economics and power with a view to discovering methods of alleviating mass population suffering of illness and unhappiness? They're trying to find out about epilepsy by teaching a rat brain to fly? Does the brain have enough cells to get a rush? Now pigs might fly. I am reminded of the 'spacing guild navigators' of Dune. Wouldn't it be great? I want to know how this "brain" "knows" what its' objective is in flying this plane. i just hope that our insights into the micro as well as unto the macro cosmos will not lead us just 4 playing the good old `Babooshka` .. Am I the only one who is creeped out by this??? It does have a certain 1950's B-movie quality about it, doesn't it? I wonder if it sees the dancer turning clockwise or counter-clockwise? I wonder if it sees the dancer turning clockwise or counter-clockwise?LOL!!!!!! |
