I will stipulate, as a Christian, that there are some churches and congregations that seem to rely too much on the emotional aspect of conversion. The aspect of believing in Jesus Christ as ones Lord and Savior is suppose to be a personal choice, made ones own free will to choose or not to choose. Being a Christian is not about being a robot or some non-thinker, nor does Christanity ask one to leave their brains at the door of the church and believe whatever the pastor or preacher is saying. Listen...In the end , there is one point, that is that YOU, the person reading this, has to make the final decision. It is not a left or right, white or black, or (insert ethnicity), gay or straight, decision to accept Christ as ones personal Lord and Savior. God has given man free will for a reason, he does not want a love that is forced, he wants you to make the final decision.
