scarybear says: You need to see the video of this thing in action. FAST! Very impressive! Our local high school just got one of these this year. I don't think it's practical for any other use due to the price, and a few other factors. One of the biggest problems is that if the wood is to moist, it will set off the safety stop which is basically a big block of alluminum that it jams into the blade and it will cost you $70 for a new one before you can use the saw again. Oops, premature button click. I meant to add that I think it is an awesome idea though and I can't wait till it becomes cheaper and available on other saws. derek, you suffering from premature button click again? i thought you took care of that derek, you suffering from premature button click again? i thought you took care of thatAhahahahahahaha Damn bro, Eric delivered the smack down on yo ass! I believe the cure for premature button click is a generous helping of smack downs. It's the least we could do. LoL!!! yeah I suppose i deserve that after giving him so much grief for his 20+ premature clicks where i had to go in and manually fix his comments for him.... Awesome awesome invention. yeah it sucks you have to replace an expensive part to the machine every time it happens. But it's better than trying to replace a finger! This would still be worth it even if it cost $1000 to fix. I agree with that, I just don't think it is practical YET for the home shop or even the small cabinet shop. Also, I would think it's got to do some damage to the blade when it jams that block into it. I only use freud blades and sometimes I think I'd rather loose a finger than destroy one of those, especially the dado's. |
