Talk about an urban heat-island. If this catches on it might create heat pockets that affect global cloud formation by forcing more heat toward the surface of the Earth and create a runaway green-house effect. This could be disastrous.

Good clean energy from the sun! In California, what you don't use you sell back to the grid - it's a win win situation!

Just to provide enough electricity to power a 3000 sq. ft. home would cost you around 35k, nevertheless it would pay for itself in the end. I think it is the way to go.

How do you figure that? Perhaps i am being intellectually lazy, but could you humour me, Willhelm and explain or shed llight on a link that might help me understand your fear (or were you being scarcastic or cynical or something? )

No worries, NonStatQuo, It is just alarmist lunacy akin to AGW. I would just like to know how this technology, though it is really not getting anywhere anytime soon, is such a "world-changing" advancement.

Sure, I am for clean, alternative, renewable energy. But, I also am not an idiot that thinks we need to do it because the world is going to end or those "backward" Middle-easterners are soaking us.
