I doubt you'll see much of this story in the mainstream media either. What little you will hear will likely attempt to depict the Chinese government in a positive light, much as TheCatWhisperer tried to do.

Of course the Chinese government does not really care about these people. The Sydney Hearld reported the rest of the story:

There is a reason you don't see stories like this about the US government... We don't allow it to happen here.

The only thing I said, is that the Chinese Police are taking part in these raids. I didn't say the Chinese government was not at fault, or that they don't turn a blind eye to many atrocities that happen in their country. What I did say is that they are slowly correcting many of these issues. They know they have to in order to get along with the western world. The make more changes to get along with others than the US does IMO.

And how dare they not do a complete 180, and be totally green & totally human rights oriented, the US is eh? They have no Environmentally bad practices or human rights violations under their belts (at least, not officially... they just ignore the international laws that they don't like)...

There is a reason you don't see stories like this about the US government... We don't allow it to happen here.

I'm proud of the fact that the US does less just to get along with the rest of the world in your opinion. I much prefer the US to behave according to a set of values and principles. This is the very problem with the US today. We do way too much to "get along" and less of what is right, IMO.

Regarding your point about US companies farming out work to other countries where slaves are used for the work... If any company knowingly does that and it can be proven, then I think decision makers of the company should suffer a penalty as harsh as what the slave workers were forced to endure.
