The worse is that as I see, Chinese government is blocking these sites (and it is not the first one that is blocking) Can you actually believe that people in China can not even see Wikipedia????????? especially these days that "great China" is preparing for the Olympic games. Coming from me, an "unrepentant Greek", a note : China's "mentality" for a long time now has nothing to do with the Olympic democratic ideals and aspirations. I am sorry to say, yet, be free to check...

It is hard to believe how cruel people can be, but we see and hear evidence of depravity every day. This story, with the photos illustrating it, is heartbreaking. And this is just one story, one glimpse into one niche in hell.

The camps in North Korea are just as bad, if not worse. Another commnuist, self-isolated regime that is hell on earth.

Y'all seem to have ignored the part where it is teh Chinese police that are freeing these slave children. They may be comunists, but they are trying to change how they treat thier people...

And Astro, I mayu have missed wher eyour comment is relevant to this clip? What does the Chinese repression of Wikipedia, et al have to do with the chinese police freeing hundres of child slaves?

I suspect that TheCatWhisperer works for the innocent and benevolent Chinese government... either that or is a typical liberal.

I doubt you'll see much of this story in the mainstream media either. What little you will hear will likely attempt to depict the Chinese government in a positive light, much as TheCatWhisperer tried to do.

Here's some of the headlines going today:
Boston Globe: China promises action on slave labor claims
Boston Globe: China reports 548 slave laborers freed
ABC News: China promises action on slave labour claims
Wall Street Journal: China Rescues 'Slave' Workers
BBC News: China 'will catch slave owners'

Of course the Chinese government does not rea...

If the liberals could turn the US into China, they would do so in a heartbeat. They want communism here that badly. Instead, they'll have to be content to slowly transform our country into their liberal utopia.

Funny, here in Canada, it was all over our media.. i guess it is just in the US where new isn't told...

I'm also sick of YOU PEOPLE equating liberalism with communism, you obviously don't know the definition of either...

The only thing I said, is that the Chinese Police are taking part in these raids. I didn't say the Chinese government was not at fault, or that they don't turn a blind eye to many atrocities that happen in their country. What I did say is that they are slowly correcting many of these issues. They know they have to in order to get along with the western world. The make more changes to get along with others than the US does IMO.

But hey, they are filthy communists...

Cat, I don't think liberals are communists; they just want to be communists really, really bad. Here's a real brain-bender for you: if you don't think liberals want to be commies, and then please tell me of a single communist idea that you disagree with.

My disdain for China has nothing to do with taking jobs from Americans. It's how they treat their own people that disgust me. If they're only making this change to get along, then isn't that the same as saying that they're getting away with anything they can?

I'm proud of the fact that the US does less just to get along with the rest of the world in your opinion. I much prefer the US to behave according to a set of values and princ...

This whole 'liberate the slave laborers' is nothing more than a face saving measure. My comments on this Clip also point that out.
